Of Dreams & Rainbow

I started out on a project few weeks ago with a piece of wood, a can of spray paint, nails, lots of colourful strings and a single word in mind. It was an attempt on an 'Inspiration Statement' for the wall. 

I'm not quite sure which wall to have it hung yet, but I do know I wanted a wall of inspiration(s). This piece would be my first and I wanted it to be 'not perfect' but not too shabby as well. So I chose a piece of 1cm thick wood that isn't perfect. It has a one and half inch cut through it and some lifted 'skin' on the surface. This piece of wood was perfect I think.

I chose this word for a reason and it took me 40 minutes at the store picking out the string colours and laying out the colour sequence over and over again. Mum waited for me outside the store, but came in halfway through with her arms folded distinctively asking me to 'hurry up already!'; mentally :P I know her body language well enough. But I think that was because she didn't know what I was up with all those strings and wood.

This piece isn't for sale; but I would be happy enough to make a duplicate or one of similar kind; depending on size, number of alphabets and colours.

Wooden Chalk Clips!

So I just went to Sungai Buluh recently to buy some plants for my new place. And instead of just buying what we intended, we ended up buying other unplanned plants..White Chillies, Applemints, Rosemary, Kum Quats, Lavender, Thyme & those plants I wanted. I don't know its name, but they look like mini tea leaves bunch and they are rounded like parts of snowmen

Anyway, with all these new plants, I wanted to label them like those chalkboard labels in the food market. So I use these chalkboard clips to label them and other stuff around the house, including onions & garlic baskets. They are shabby-chic and oH, so Old-School!

These are about 6.8cm x 4.8cm

They come with a little magnets at the back of the clips, so you can even use these on your fridge with notes to family members, shopping reminders, simple recipes or photos clipped on it.
